The tour routes run over level ground in the Kisalföld (Small Hungarian Plain), but also the hilly region around Sopron, and Sokoró are effected. You ride chiefly on roads with low traffic or so-called “cyclist friendly” roads marked with green signs, cycle paths, and often on dirt tracks. Many trips run along the embankments of the numerous rivers here, where even families with children can cycle in safety.
Foreign tourism has only discovered a few prominent areas as yet – primarily the larger towns and the Lake Fertő region. The purpose of this guide is to draw attention to the often valuable and interesting sights also found in the smaller settlements. Pleasant public beaches and campsites are to be found beside the rivers.
